Sports Illustrated identified the Pennington Balloon Championship as one of its summer travel essentials in 2005.
AAA Southern Traveler recognized the Pennington Balloon Championships as an official Southern Travel Treasure in 2007.

Five years’ attendance (2003-2007) has averaged over 92,000 spectators.
The event is FREE including admission, parking, and participation in a huge children’s area.
Sponsor areas are available for VIP functions as well as display locations.

Pennington Biomedical Research center, an arm of Louisiana State University.
